STYLE & THE BAR CART - KRYSTLE'S VINTAGE THIRTY PT3

It's snowing cats and dogs here in NYC so I decided to push this post live! I also want to give you a little something to keep your thoughts warm if you're experiencing a frigid day like me.

For my Thirtieth birthday (Part 1 & Part 2), I celebrated in pure Modern-Vintage; Tropical-Glam Panache and of course I needed a tropical themed bar-cart that was suitable for the celebration! If you're not familiar with my series let me give you the full spiel.

Style & The Bar Cart is a creative production that combines my passions (style, decor, vintage & DIY) to serve as outfit and occasion inspiration for the modern-vintage girl who loves to entertain in style and prefers cocktails over wine.

As with all my bar-carts, this one is easy to put together. I've linked to similar items so you can get all the tropical-vibes your heart desires.

My DIY cake was inspired by Alana Jone-Mann's wallpaper cakes. I've admired these beauties ever since she first published them and vowed that I would have one for myself. Turning 30 was the perfect opportunity!

I had a local bakery in Harlem make the cake and they were also awesome enough to wrap it in this edible paper that's a printout of Dorothy Draper's Brazilliance Wallpaper. If you haven't heard about my banana-leaf obsession you can check out these posts and read this one here to get caught up (insert a good old laugh here).

To add the finishing touch to my birthday cake, I added tropical flowers, tropical leaves and a gold glitter handmade sign that was most appropriate for my cake. I almost picked the "thirty" sign but that seemed too snoozy so I went with "Yaaas". I mean is there any other way to describe a cake like this? I think not!

Three candles for my 30th birthday! C'mon, do a little math, 3x10 = 30.

Tropical on the outside, chocolate & vanilla on the inside. Yummy!

Of course I had my Queen with me. She's wearing a floral print jumpsuit, vintage snakeskin boots and floral drop earrings. She is my style inspiration, forever and ever!

You guys, God knows my flamingo-loving heart and a year ago I got my hands on my favorite pair of flamingo heels from Sophia Webster!!! It took a lot of will power to not wear them for a year (yes a whole damn year) but I did it and made it out alive.

Thank you God, thank you shoe-angel (you know who you are) and thank you Sophia for making these beauties!
