SPRING GINGHAM & MAY FLOWERS
April’s showers brings May flowers and pretty gingham too. Happy first day of May beautiful people!
It’s no secret, I love gingham print just as much as I love flowers! It’s the perfect print to welcome Spring and always reminds me of picnics in the park.
I got this cute two piece set from Zara last Spring with every intention of shooting against a backdrop of Magnolias or Cherry Blossom but didn’t get a chance to do so.
The weather last Spring stayed chilly for a bit then we left for vacation to Aruba and by the time we got back we ran out of time with the blooms. Honestly, the only sign of this outfit you might have seen last year was the below IG post where I used the skirt as a backdrop for my vintage daisy brooch.
I wasn’t going to let time run out on me this year, so this weekend we headed to Central Park for a stroll and shot the look as well. It was such a wonderful day! The weather was perfect, all the flowers were in full bloom and people were so happy. I sat in the park for a bit admiring how happy people were among the flowers. So many were taking selfies with them and I thought to myself, flowers really make people happy, then I thanked God for his beautiful creations and gifts to us.
Now, with that being said, let’s jump into today's look. I wanted this outfit to exuded Spring, being elegant enough to wear to a daytime wedding or garden party yet casual enough for a girl's brunch in the city. To keep things as minimal as I get, I wore the two-piece set with dainty pink gingham ankle-strap heels, a wicker bucket basket for a touch of whimsy and statement floral earrings. I’ll be sharing more details on where you can get those earrings soon, so stay tuned!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Be sure to scroll to the end of my post for my roundup of really great yellow gingham pieces so you can get the look!
