Happy Friday darlings! Mildred’s back with some fab retro red style for you. Since we’re just under 2 weeks away from Memorial Day weekend here in the US and it’s the unofficial start to Summer, I thought this red and white look would be a great option to wear.
It’s usually a bit cooler in terms of temps around that time so this medium-weight off the shoulder top with long sleeves works perfectly to keep you cool but not hot. I also love that it has a bit of a sailor effect with the tie in the front and the ruffle details are the best. I got it around the end of last Summer while shopping with my sisters so I’m not sure if it’s still available (maybe you’ll spot some in stores). If I find it, I'll def include along with similar looking ones at the end of this post so you can get the look.
As with most of my looks, the goal isn’t for you to get the exact pieces but to inspire you to try something you may not have tried before and to ultimately encourage you to create your own uniques version that expresses your personality. So don't be too bummed out if I can't link to the exact pieces because I took too long to wear, it's vintage or has sold out.
Along with this cute top, I wore a pair of white skinny jeans that I cuffed at the ankles and accessorized the look with my red retro car shoes, a pair of vintage bangles, red bow ring, retro transparent sunnies, vintage flower earrings, a poppy-print turban headband and my absolute favorite styling tip, a retro lunch tin as a purse. This time around I swapped the TV tins for this cute retro radio tin. I especially love that it says retro radio on the front. All together I went for a modern-twist on my pinup-style.
Now tell me, are you looking forward to the holiday weekend thats coming up pretty soon and are you already thinking about outfits like I am?
