LADYBUG LOVE πβ€οΈ
.
Hello love bugs! I hope you had a good weekend. Have you ever found yourself saving your pieces for a special occasion or do you refuse to wear a look until you get the perfect accessory? I do this often, sometimes having unworn pieces for a year or more and the change in seasons don't help with my stubborn ways!
Putting together a look is a creative process for me as well as a way to express myself. Much like my DIY projects or when I'm decorating an event or space; I have a vision and won't stop until that vision comes to life. Do you do this when putting together a look or creative project? Can't stop, won't stop!
So here I was with all the pieces for this look sitting in my closet for most of the summer except for the ladybug earrings. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't in search of any old pair of ladybug earrings because as you know I'm an accessory collector (read hoarder) and already own a pair in a gold finish with crystals. However, I envisioned this look with the red & black bug and wouldn't give in.
I waited and waited and then the universe heard my plea (added that for dramatic effect) and granted my wish. I stumbled (again more drama) upon this pair of vintage ladybug earrings and was out in the streets of NYC photo-shooting it up in a flash!
So dreamy! I even tried to give this photo a dreamy finish because I'm channeling my theater arts minor and all the dramatics for this post, lol!
For this ladybug love look, I wore a buffalo check pencil skirt, polkadot retro-style tie front top, black ankle strap heels, vintage beaded purse, ladybug print wired headband, vintage ladybug earrings, classic red lips and pair of black and white color block cat-eye sunglasses. I also pinned my vintage ladybug and daisy brooches to my top for a little more ladybug love πβ£
Such a good reason to use the ladybug emoji πππ!
World stop! Carry on.
Wearing mostly black and white but always living colorfully!
Mildred my #RetroAlterEgo or nah?
Don't forget to laugh today. Happy Monday! πβ€οΈ
