RETRO BARBIE GLAM ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ’–

Hello darlings, happy Friday eve! Today Iโ€™m excited to share this girly & playful look with you. I'm all about letting the girl in you play (I even created a hashtag on Instagram for it  called #LetTheGirlInYouPlay, haha!)  so I did just that while putting together and shooting this retro-barbie inspired look.

If you've been keeping up with me, you know I love vintage barbies and was even the classic 1959 one for Halloween back in 2016 which by the luck of the stars & the moon was exactly what Beyonce dressed up as for Halloween that year. Donโ€™t believe me? Take a peek below at all of us, living our best retro-barbie lives and let me just say I wore mine first, but Barbie wore it before all of us.

While we're on the topic of Queen Bey,  this look was also inspired by one of my absolute favorite videos of her and if you're a true Beyonce fan then you know the exact video. If not, what are you even doing with your life?

Just kidding (kind of), but hey even if you didnโ€™t see it, now is your chance and if youโ€™ve already seen it you could simply be like me and just keep watching on repeat because itโ€™s so good.

Now wasn't that so much fun? Anywhoo, I've shared a few Barbie-inspired looks on the blog before and even shared a couple exclusives on IG (here and here)  so I thought it would be fun to create a new one.

For this look, I went for a 50s vibe and rocked a pair of vintage pastel polka-dot pedal pushers, retro-style pinup mules or high-heeled slippers (as my Mom calls them), a vintage train case as a purse and this gorgeous handmade pinup tie-front top in a stripe and anchor reversible print. I recently got the top from a lovely shop I called HandmadeRetroTopShop and as promised on my Instagram I will be sharing more about their story in my upcoming small business Shop & Tell Feature.

I pulled my hair into a huge bun, did my curly bumper bangs and added an aqua polka-dot turban headband. Flamingo hoop earrings, bubble-gum pink cateye sunnies and a vintage bangle stack added the much needed finishing touch to the outfit.

I hope you enjoyed today's fun-filled post! You can find links to similar pieces I'm wearing here in my Amazon Shop and remember to always #LetTheGirlInYouPlay!
