Last time you saw me I was in Mexico City getting my usual sweet treat and today, I’m back in New York bringing you my yearly Summer to Fall transitional look.
I enjoy showing you different ways to style vintage floral dresses and today’s look was inspired by the classic 1950s housewife. I always try to put a twist on how I style floral vintage dresses, so I combined this 80s does 50s number with a vintage crochet apron who’s pattern and colors coincidentally match the dress. I like the addition of the crochet texture and really love how the pieces complement each other. Can you even tell it’s an apron?
To accessorize I wore vintage floral ear crawlers, second-hand retro cateye sunnies, second-hand sling back peep toe jelly heels and a vintage cookie tin as a purse. Yes, you read correctly!
This metal floral beauty used to be for cookies and it really plays up the retro housewife theme but listen darlings, Mildred isn’t much of the cookie baking type, so I’m swinging my tin all the way to a soirée for delightful conversation over a cocktail or two or three.
