I actually shared this a couple months ago in the form of an Instagram post but wanted to add it to my blog’s archives as well. My friends & founders of AphroChic launched the inaugural issue of their magazine “designed to celebrate the presence, innovation and accomplishments of creatives of color from all corners of the African Diaspora.”

The magazine provides breathtaking imagery and stories that celebrate who we are as well as our diverse interests and in the wise words of Solange, “this one is for us!”

I’m elated to see my friends’ vision come to life & the little girl in me is over the moon to see her picture in a magazine, knowing how much representation matters and how that impacts each and every one of us in a very profound way. When we see ourselves in spaces, the possibilities of what we imagine for ourselves are endless and seemingly simple imagery and stories hold the power of changing the trajectory of our lives 🖤
