Happy almost weekend darlings! Last week I shared a red and white look that I thought would be great for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and today I'm sharing a roundup of vintage as well as modern pieces in red, white & fruit. There is just something about combining red and white that screams Summer in the US. I also love adding green in the mix and fruit just gives whatever you're rocking major retro-vibes.Read More
Truth be told. I planned to shoot a couple Valentine’s Day looks this weekend for you gals but I was feeling a little low on energy ( I think I need to beef up my intake of iron & vitamin D) so I decided to just relax. This can be challenging for me because I always want to use my extra time when I’m not at work to create content and when I don’t, I feel like I’ve wasted time. Do you ever feel that way?
I recently listened to a podcast with Oprah and Brene Brown and they talked about the importance of not always being on and that we need time to recharge. Easier said than done but I’m working on it, especially when it comes to my mind because boy oh boy, that thing can go nine knots an hour (as we say in Guyana).Read More
The holidays are here and unlike last year's tropical theme I'm ushering in the season with a classic Christmas color palette of red white and green. Whenever I think of these colors I immediately think of so all the things we love about the holidays; Christmas trees, holly branches, peppermint candy canes, mistletoe, eggnog, Santa and so much more.
Although I decided to bring some classic holiday style to the blog I decided to do it with a twist by wearing this vintage poppy print Summer dress. I picked up this lovely number off Etsy at the end of Summer and even shared a sneak peek with you on in my Instagram stories. Quite a few of you loved it and expressed excitement around how I'd style it. Well the wait is finally over and today you can see how I put together this look for Christmas in bloom!Read More
I was recently asked why I describe my taste as eclectic and my answer leads back to home.
As many of you know, Guyana is home to me and is a diverse country often referred to as the land of six people which includes people of Amerindian, African, Indian, Chinese, Portuguese & European descent. I am mixed and grew up embracing and celebrating a wide range of cultures that are a part of my Guyanese heritage. My heritage is reflected in my eclectic taste and more than often directs my choices in style and decor.
I plan on sharing a more detailed account of Guyana’s history in a separate post but until then I hope you enjoy yet another glimpse into my culture and how that’s shaped who I am.Read More

When this dress arrived, I was excited to try it on. I was a bit skeptical about the size because it looked tiny when I pulled it out the bag. Nevertheless, I tried it on and it fit! I adored the mixing of my favorite banana-leaf print with garden roses and butterflies but then I realized something about the dress that made me second-guess keeping it.

The long 4th of July Holiday weekend is almost here and I'm looking forward to some much needed rest & relaxation. Work has been pretty intense these past couple of weeks and so it will be much needed for me.
The city usually starts clearing out mid-week and by the time the weekend rolls around, it practically ghost town. This makes it the perfect opportunity (in my opinion) to have a sweet picnic in the park.
I'm sharing some picnic essentials & a retro-fab 4th of July look after the jump so be sure to click through!Read More
