MILDRED ARRIVES ON THE HOLIDAY NOSTALGIA TRAIN 📻 🕰 🚂 🎄

Guess who’s in town for the holidays? Yes, my darling Mildred is staying with us here in NYC and if you haven't met her, now is the time to do so! She’s actually appeared many times before on the blog and is a dear friend of mine. In fact, she’s my #RetroAlterEgo!

Mildred arrived on Sunday via the MTA Holiday Nostalgia Train and boy oh boy, that dame sure knows how to show up in vintage-style! Her mink fascinator, faux fur cape, 1940s style floral dress, pearl cluster earrings, gloves and purse are all vintage while her heels are a modern take on high vamp shoes from the 1940s.

Millie rode the train along the F line into NYC, and we were lucky enough to capture a little video of her primping & re-applying one of her favorite Besame lipsticks. Head to my Instagram to see the video!

Now here’s the best part, you too can ride the "special eight-car subway train of R1-9 cars from the 1930s complete with rattan seats, ceiling fans, incandescent bulb lighting, drop-sash style windows, vintage roll signs, and original advertisements!”

The Holiday Nostalgia Train departs from the 2nd Ave subway station on the F line and from the 96th Street subway station on the Q line at various times every Sunday until Christmas. You can find more details here and maybe you'll bump into Mildred one day!
