Can you believe we're in the last month of 2016 already? I feel as though the year flew by and now Christmas is just a few weeks away. Before you know it we'll be ringing in the new year making resolutions.

As I close out this year on the blog, I wanted to highlight my love for color (in case that wasn't apparent) and create a look dedicated to the colors of the year;  Rose Quartz and Serenity.

Pantone, "the world-renowned authority on color and provider of color systems" announces the color of the year every year but 2016 was special as they announced not one but two colors. Rose Quartz and Serenity. These two colors "demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace."

I've followed the yearly announcement of the color over the years and when I worked at Apartment Therapy my coworkers and I would play a game of guess the color. Emerald & Marsala were good years but I'll never forget the year of Honeysuckle which was a rich reddish pink. Can you guess the calendar years for each of the colors I mentioned?

This year I was elated to find Rose Quartz, another hue of pink on the list along with it's soft blue counterpart Serenity. Fashion and Interior Design industries usually incorporate the color of the year into their products so finding items to create this look was pretty easy.

Strike a pose!

My accordion pleated midi skirt and tie neck cotton shirt were both from H&M. I added a flower pin on top of my neck bow and accessorized with vintage clip on pearl button earrings, cat-eye glasses, a statement ring , golden giraffe bracelet, a floral embroidered denim purse and snakeskin ankle boots.

I have some surprise DIYs related to this post and will be sharing soon.

Don't let my smiles and pastel colors fool you, it was cold out so I kept my vintage coat nearby and wore between shots.

Have a happy day and keep twirling until it's frigid outside!
