SAKIWINKIS & THE WATER LILY POND πŸ’πŸŒΈ

My bestie and I were out browsing a few racks one day after work when she exclaimed, "Kryspy, this is you!" I turned from the piece I was checking out and almost tossed it up to Mars. She was right. This dress was so me! The first thing I said when she pulled it off the rack and handed it to me was, "look at de two Sakiwinkis!"

We both laughed as this dress felt so much like Guyana to us.  From the parrots, to the sakiwinkis to the jaguars, I knew I had to have it. Thanks bestie!

Besides my obvious tropical passion, I adore the midi length that's reminiscent of vintage dresses, lace up detail in the back and how the pleating gives the dress a flowiness that's perfect for Summer breezes.

My dress needed a backdrop reminiscent of home so I decided to shoot my look by this pond. While you can only spot a few water lilies in my photos, they're important to me because they're the national flower of Guyana. Water lilies are a part of our coat of arms along with jaguars so you can see why I wanted to shoot my dress against a pond with lilies.
