THE ARTIST’S WAY 🎨🌿

As I planned this trip to Mexico City, I thought about my theme for dressing and decided to create everything against what I called The Artist’s Way. It’s actually the title of a book I’m about to read and felt right for my visit to the birthplace and home of one of my favorite artists, Frida Kahlo.

I recently shared a recap of my visit to the home now turned Museum of Frida so today I wanted to share a quick look at the outfit I wore that day or as I refer to it on Instagram, #WhatKrysWore.

I also planned my outfits to accommodate cooler temps in Mexico City and figured light layering and closed toe shoes would help keep me warm while providing the option to remove layers in case it got hot. This outfit, inspired by one of my style-boards was perfect for that!

I finally wore my Frida-printed robe with a satin leopard camisole, paint splattered jeans (because hashtag artist things) and accessorized with my Frida/Carmen Miranda rhinestone earrings, leopard cat-eye sunglasses, African Maasai beaded bangles, embroidered Guatemalan tassel clutch from my big sis and woven lattice patterned flats.

I found similar versions to my robe and included them in my Etsy roundup (to the end of this post) but wanted to point out that for a couple of them, while the print looks very similar to mine there are differences and what appears to be some smudging. I’m guessing it’s made out of fabric that attempted to replicate this original print so do take note of that if you decided to purchase.
