GREEN GLAM

Hello darlings, I hope you’re having a wonderful week! Today’s post is dedicated to the color green; a staple color in my wardrobe.

When I think of the color green, lush tropics, majestic palms, pretty house plants, veggies and nature in general come to mind. Within that context, green works as a neutral and can be combined with almost any other color for a stunning effect.

I’ve always wanted a pair of tropical pinup shoes that emulated styles from the 40s and 50s so when my friends at Honiara Vintage sent me this modern pair in green I was elated!

The Gizo is super comfortable with the cutest short heel and a quick release buckle that’s pure magic. It allows you quickly slip your feet in and out of the shoes and personally, I think all shoes with buckles should be designed this way!

The geometric patterns are derived from pacific and melanesian art and the heels were made as a tribute to the owner’s grandmother who was born in the town of Gizo, Solomon Islands.

Speaking of grandmothers, when my family saw these heels, they said my Grandmother (who is no longer with us) would have loved them and that makes them even more special to me!

My skirt set, sunglasses, earrings and pinup hair flowers are a few years old. Bangles & belt are vintage but I linked to similar pieces so you can get the look.
